Director of coaching Jeremy Driver leads Golden Valley and St. Louis Park’s combined soccer club.
Park Valley United FC offers soccer fun for kids ages 5-18.

In December 2013, the Golden Valley Phoenix Soccer Club and St. Louis Park Soccer Association merged to create a youth soccer club, Park Valley United FC, with innovative programming and plenty of league opportunities.

Marketing director Steve Lovell says the merger provides better shared resources, which allow the club to offer a top-notch soccer experience for all skill levels. Park Valley United FC includes about 1,200 participants, ages 5 to 18, with training, teams and activities year-round. The club also maintains multiple practice fields and Friday-night family “free plays” in the summer with a DJ, food, inflatable fields and more.

Lovell says the merger has also allowed Park Valley to recruit excellent staff. The club recently hired Jeremy Driver as director of coaching. “We’re very excited…[Driver] has a rich history in the local soccer community,” says Lovell, including prior positions as the boys’ head coach at the Academy of Holy Angels in Richfield, and the women’s head coach at St. Olaf College in Northfield.

Driver is excited to be part of a thriving soccer club close to his roots. “I grew up in the area. I just fell in love with the game and have been playing it since the second grade,” he says. “I wanted to continue to help soccer in our community grow and improve.”
