Help Make STEP's Holiday Program a Success

St.Louis Park Emergency Program relies on the generosity of the community

Once again this year, the St. Louis Park Emergency Program (STEP) is appealing to the generous nature of the St. Louis Park community to make a difference for families in need this holiday season. Numbers at the local food shelf are up and according to Julie Jergens, STEP volunteer coordinator and food shelf manager, STEP anticipates serving 500 households with their Holiday Food Basket program in November and 600 children with holiday gifts in December.

How can you help?  Consider donating money, new toys or a gift of your time to make the STEP Holiday Program a success. A donation of $40 will provide a holiday food basket to a St. Louis Park family.  Children ages 0-10 would love to receive a new toy for the holidays (suggested price range is $15-$40) and Target gift cards, in the amount of $10, will help families of teenagers ages 11-18 purchase something special just for them.

Volunteers are needed and welcomed to sort and distribute toys from STEP’s Toy Shop from December 17-20.  If you need more information about donating or volunteering, contact Julie Jergens at 952.925.4899, ext. 14 or visit the STEP website at

Thanks for doing your part to make the holiday season a little brighter for everyone in The Park.
