Looking for some unique entertainment options in The Park this week? As always, they are plenty of great choices. On Wednesday, August 21 from 7–8:30 p.m., check out the Community Talent Show at Wolfe Park where your friends, neighbors and community members are ready to put on a show. This is a free event. The following night, return to Wolfe Park for an Open Mic Night featuring the talented Blutopians (Blues, Rock) among us. Grab your guitar or another instrument of choice and be part of the free show from 7–8 p.m. Check out the city website for more details about both of these events: stlouispark.org For the art lovers, a fascinating exhibit at the Sabes Jewish Community Center (JCC) will be celebrated on Thursday, August 22 from 6–8 p.m. with an Artists’ Reception. For the past year, the Jewish Artists’ Laboratory, a collaborative of 17 artists, has been meeting for study and art making sessions. To mark the half-way point of this initiative (it’s a two-year program) an exhibit entitled Jewish Text/Subtext/Context is currently on display through September 22 at Sabes JCC. Categories include City Landmarks, Wildlife & Nature, Activities & Events, People & Families and Pets. Finalists may have their winning photos featured in an upcoming issue of St. Louis Park Magazine. We are also awarding gift cards from local businesses and restaurants to the winners.
