Firefighters for Healing brings toys to distract patients during dressing changes, provides meals for families, temporary housing for out-of-towners or camp scholarships, demonstrating they understand what each family needs to survive the trauma.

Voting for the 2019 Best of City South survey is now closed. The results of our annual readers’ choice survey will be printed in July, in our special Best of edition of City South Magazine, and we'll need your help to fill it with the best City South has to offer.

Hobbyist photographer and St. Louis Park resident Jeff Liss took home the top prize in the Activities and Events  category of the Picture City South photo contest for his photo titled Practicing for Duck Season—his snapshot of a dog leaping gleefully into the gray-blue water at Lake Harriet.

This photo titled Curiosity features a young woman peeking through a door. The subject of the photo is photographer Jo Davis’ 7-year-old daughter, Riley.

A relatively new and rapidly growing workplace concept is coworking, a membership-based workspace or office comprised of individuals or companies operating independently—often in completely different industries.

This whimsical photo of a curious cat and a toad won second place in the Pets category of the Picture City South photo contest. The cat’s name is Winslow. His owner, Susan Spannaus, took the picture on her patio in 2015.

When a beloved community mural— situated on the wall of Bryant Market in the Carag neighborhood—was destroyed during a construction project, the neighborhood rallied.

Community is never more than a stone's throw away in the City South area. It lives in the shops, restaurants, clinics and fitness centers that speckle our streets. It can be found in a long chat with your neighbor or a delicious meal at your favorite restaurant.
